Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. Emma's goal was to be an actor. As a young girl of 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons for acting, singing and dancing. Her performances had been in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays before she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having eight consecutive auditions. Emma's first cinematic appearance was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was also the most successful film of 2001. The opening weekend and day sales were record-breaking. Reviewers were awed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Emma's performance was recognized and later won awards for the movie.
